TRAMPA TREAD's Tyres are something special! Using an Intelligent tread pattern incorporating GRIP on GRIP! TRAMPA TREAD's are available in 2 different rubber compounds (Hard & SOFT) & suitable for nearly every application of Mountain Board riding, TRAMPA TREADS Tyres are frequently used by the team riders & will rarely let you down!
SOFT compound TRAMPA Treads are lighter in weight & grippier than the HARD compound TRAMPA Treads, but the Soft compound Tyre will not last as long as the hard compound tyre, whilst the HARD compound tyre will not offer as much grip as the soft tyre on the hard surfaces, it is amazing on soft surfaces at digging in for grip & much more durable & long lasting on hard surfaces than the soft compound.
Measuring 3.75 Inches at the rim, the 8 inch TRAMPA TREAD's Tyres will fit to all of TRAMPA's 3.75x 2 Inch Hubs as exact an fit, but they will also stretch & fit to the 3.75/4x 2.5 Inch Hubs. When fitting the 2 Inch wide Tyres to the 2.5 Inch Rims the wider hub gives the tyres a stretched & a lower profile appearance, consequently more surface area.... Some guys really like to do this.... Stretching the tyre also reduces the overall diameter of the inflated tyre effectively reducing your final Drive Gearing ratio to give you more acceleration, but less top speed.....
Moulded into the Rim of the Tyre is a 3.75 Inch STEEL BAND. Using a relatively regular TPI the tyre is stitched together giving a solid, inflatable structure. The recommended tyre pressure set by the factory is 50psi, this will inflate the tyre to have maximum a dimension of 200x50mm (8 x 2 inch). TRAMPA TREADS tyre will fit to all other 8 Inch wheeled Mountainboard & Kite-Landboards currently on the market.!
The TRAMPA HUBS are so strong that top riders have been known to inflate these tyres well beyond their recommended pressures with no problems to mention. However, over-inflating your tyres may cause your tyres to explode & cause you serious injury. If you do decide to go beyond the max inflation pressure make sure your nuts & bolts are tight & deflate to a regular pressure after use.
Its true, the more you inflate your Tyres the faster you will roll! It also true that if you inflate your tyres too high or too low you will also wear out your tyres much faster. The official maximum inflation pressure set by the factory for the TRAMPA TREAD's 8 Inch Tyre is 50psi, but the TRAMPA TREAD's Tyres are made so well & the TRAMPA Hubs are so strong (The tyres are only as strong as the hubs they are fitted too & our hubs are incredibly strong) that our Crash test Dummies (I mean Team Riders) have been known to inflate these Tyres well beyond their recommended pressures with no problems to mention. Its also true that over inflating your tyres may lead to an explosion which could seriously injure you, so use a pressure gauge if your going to inflate them high so you don't go too far. If you do decide to go beyond the max inflation pressure ensure your nuts & bolts are tight before inflation & once your done riding at the high pressure deflate them back down to a regular pressure, HOWEVER, through years of testing & under mutual agreement with the team, depending on how you ride & how much you weigh & what surfaces your mostly riding, we recommend you should look to inflate these tyres to somewhere between 25 & 35 psi for optimal use.
