Rideguide for Wanyi Park

Wanyi Park
Wanyi Park

Review: Welcome all you international riders. This site tries to unite all dirt and down-hill riders of the small country of chocolates and beer. As you’d probably know, most of them speak Dutch (or Flemish), so you’ll have a hard time trying to understand any of it.
Let me translate the most important issues:

If you’re planning a trip or travelling through, seeking some dirt action, Wanyi Park is the place to go. This laid-back mountainboard centre has some wicked runs, a freeride section, a big air and loads of rails, bumps and rollers for jibbing. The ski lift brings you up again without too much effort. Your damage is about 15€/day for a lift pass, including the use of a board, so you can’t possibly go wrong!!
The camping downhill offers cheap accommodation (@ 20€/week or 5€/day) with basic facilities, decent showers and good vibes.

This year the Belgium Open, as part of the World Open Series, will be held on the 11th and 12th of August 2007. Be there!

How to get to Wanyi Park?
From Brussels try to get onto the A54 Charleroi> on the ring road of the city of Charleroi, don’t miss the exit ‘Portes de France-Philippeville’> keep following ‘Philippeville’ until you’re on the N5 Charleroi-Philippeville-Couvin-Rocroi
take the exit ‘Viroinval’, you’re now at 15 km from the centre. Follow the townships:
Mariembourg>Nismes>Olloy-sur-Viroin (take right)> Oignies (the right pronunciation in French of this last one is /wanyi/ ; that’s why…)
As soon as you reach the centre of Oignies-en-Thiérache, stick to the brown signposts saying ‘Wanyi Park’

See you soon!!
