Trampa Boards Ltd Equipment Usage Safety Instructions

Mountain Boarding & Kite Land Boarding are dangerous sports. Misuse or failure to identify obvious hazard’s before riding may result in serious injury or death. We strongly recommend riding in open spaces away from the general public, preferably in designated or private areas. If you are new to these extreme sports then we strongly recommend a visit to a professional Mountain Board Centre or Kite Club for training & too master the basic techniques of starting & more importantly stopping! We encourage you to ride at Mountainboard centres & clubs as often as possible, partly to help grow the community & support the local club but also so you can pick the sport by learning from other riders....

Accidents will happen & we insist that a responsible adult person must supervise young children & teenagers during the usage of TRAMPA equipment at all times.

Never use your TRAMPA products under the influence of Drugs or Alcohol. Never ride your Trampa products on the road or near traffic and/or  pedestrians potentially unaware of you.

Prior to riding - Inspect your equipment & ensure all the components of the deck are fitted together tightly & are all working harmoniously in a fully functioning order together. Tighten any loose nuts or bolts prior to riding. Ensure your bindings are operational & that your wheels are spinning freely on the axles & that the tyre pressure is suitable to your skills & the riding environment your about to drop in on.

Wearing protective gear when operating the TRAMPA equipment is advised as compulsory at all times. The minimum of protective gear worn when riding TRAMPA equipment should comprise of at least a good fitting & in good working condition Helmet, Knee & Elbow protectors, ass-pads (or the Trampa Booty wrap) sturdy shoes & wrist support guards. In more extreme conditions such as attempting freestyle moves or when you are using your TRAMPA equipment in competition, Back protectors, hip protection & shin guards are all also advisable. We further recommend too wear a florescent vest when riding in General Public Locations or open spaces.

Never over estimate your skills & ride within your capabilities, do not be egged on to ride something you are not confident of riding out off! Always adapt your speed according to the terrain, situation & your skills. Make sure you inspect the terrain before your ride. Remove all potentially hazardous obstacles before you ride. If necessary, ride with lowered tire pressure to reduce your top end roll speed before riding at maximum speed. Never ride down a hill before not having trained to securely stop your ride (e.g. by sliding the board perpendicular to the direction of travel, or using the kite to stop).

If you ride with a brake system attached, double-check its operating correctly & ensure all components are tight & functioning correctly prior to your ride.

The brake system should never be 100% be relied upon & they may (given the right set of circumstances) potentially fail. Brakes can wear out during use & cables can potentially fail & therefore its advisable you learn to stop your ride, without the help of a brake system! Join a club & train to “Power-slide stop” your board first before riding with the brake. Don´t use the brake system to increase your regular ride speed, stay within your stopping limits, instead use the brake system to control your cornering speeds…..

Never touch the brake discs whilst riding! Brake discs get exceptionally hot during usage & will burn your skin if touched when hot!
